We've gotten off to a rocky start this week. Frog has been very stimmy and harder to engage than usual. Rather than fight our way through it, I returned to less school and more Floortime. It also gave me a chance to ponder and envision some adjustments I want to make.
We are all a bit worn out here at the pond. So I am going to leave you with pictures tonight, and I'll post some description tomorrow -

We're worn out too! Thanks for sharing the photos. I can't remember if I've ever mentioned this before...I try to talk about it to every Autism Mom. It was a New Moon a couple of days ago. I affected Daniel's potty training and ability to fall asleep. He was an extra picky eater too, just for about 2 days. Just a thought. I don't think there's much I can do about it, but it helps to know and understand. I've been slowly hearing other moms say the same thing about how the moon cycles affects their kids. I hope tomorrow is better for you!!!
1. Within the context of Semi-structured Floortime or Speech Therapy, Frog will imitate a play partner’s facial expressions
2. Within the context of speech therapy session or semi-structured Floortime, Frog will imitate vowels, consonants or noises, e.g., raspberries, that he has previously made. 3. Within the context of spontaneous Floortime, Frog will vocalize in response to games, such as peek-a-boo or chase.
4. When told “Hi” or “good bye” in a natural conversation or situation, Frog will wave.
5. Frog will point to indicate preference, answer questions, and to initiate joint attention by pointing to direct the attention of another.
6. In the context of semi-structured Floortime or speech therapy session, Frog will imitate movements, which incorporate the head, trunk, arms, or legs that you have already observed him do.
7. Frog will respond to, ‘‘Where’s Mommy/Daddy/caregiver?’’ when that person is within his direct line of vision by looking at the person or pointing at the person.
8. Frog will respond to ‘‘Where is. . .,’’ ‘‘Show me. . .,’’ ‘‘Get the. . .’’ when two objects are placed in front of him.
9. Frog will use play materials functionally when playing with caregiver or with a doll/puppet to represent home and garden scenarios.
10. Frog will sustain playful interactions for more than 20 back-and-forths (circles of communication) with a familiar adult play partner.
11. Frog will demonstrate his understanding of simple prepositions, such as ‘‘out,’’ ‘‘in,’’ ‘‘off,’’ and ‘‘on’’ in the context of Floortime or semi-structured Floortime.
12. Frog will demonstrate his understanding of several basic action words (verbs) with objects
Action words for body mapping then object play – Jump, Rock, Swing, Leap, Run, Roll
Our frog picture is from one of our favorite picture books "Can You Hop?" by Lisa Lawston, Illustrated by Ed Vere. The pictures are awsome - vivid colors, but not overwhelming in the details. The story is lots of fun and great for acting out. Also see "Can You Sing" by the same duo!
